The newly unveiled S-Class coupe is, undoubtedly, the star attraction at the Mercedes-Benz stall as of this year’s Geneva Motor Show. The car has been doing the making for quite a while; however, considering it now we can safely say that it was well worth the wait. The new S-Class coupe looks stunning, to say the least. The sculpted appearance lends the car a sensuous character. The mixture of stunning looking full-LED headlamps, the quintessential coupe profile and distinctive character lines help make the S-Class coupe truly stunning to appear at.
Although the coupe is shorter, lower and boasts of a shortened wheelbase compared to S-Class sedan, it uses lots of common bits underneath. The US-spec version, as an example, works on the 4.7-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 producing 450hp. The V8 is paired to the familiar 7-speed automatic gearbox. Carrying the S550 Coupe 4Matic name, the car will naturally have all-wheel drive configuration as standard. Of all revolutionary features the S-Class coupe is sold with, Oahu is the active tilt function that
has gotten all of us interested. Using Mercedes’ Active Body Control, the curve tilting function allows the coupe to lean into corners in a fashion much like a motorcycle. Mercedes says this new function enhances driving enjoyment and comfort, especially on windy country roads.
